Monte Belgarde was my instructor when I earned my private pilot license nearly 29 years ago. I’ve always held him in very high regard both as an instructor and a friend but lost track of him until recently. After not flying for seven years I contacted Monte and he got me current and flying my old Cessna 210 again. Flying with Monte is very informative and technical but enjoyable. He commends you when you do a maneuver properly and makes flying fun and safe; many instructors seem to focus only on the student’s mistakes and it makes for a less than enjoyable experience. I feel very fortunate to have reconnected with Monte and hope to fly with him in the future.

Angle of Attack AEROnautics is the place you want to go for your multi-engine training! Monte is a great instructor with tons of hours and experience. The use of the sim in training is a very effective tool to learn the procedures in a safe and efficient way that transfers nicely to the aircraft, saving you time and money. If you need a multi engine rating this is the school for you!

Angle of Attack is by far the best flight training school I have been to, and I have never had an instructor more devoted to helping me succeed than Monte. You can really tell that instructing is where his true passion is and he is committed to every student all the way. I was in a pinch and needed my commercial multi-engine add-on in a couple days, and Monte was more than willing to make the time for me. Through bad weather and time crunches he got me to where I needed to be in that Cessna 310 to successfully pass the check ride, and I passed without an issue. Once again, thank you Monte! He is a pleasure to work with.

Monte Belgarde is a very experienced pilot who has taught me so much in such a short period of time. His experience shows in his instructing. I would highly recommend him to anyone looking for flight instruction.

Just finished up doing some Multi Engine training with Monte (owner of the flight school). I can’t express how awesome Monte is. He is a dying breed. He has over 30 years experience and tons of hours. He had a passion to teach and make complicated things simple in the manner he taught. The 310 is well equipped and maintained. I went there for just a Multi rating but I took so much more away. It was money well spent. I highly recommend Angle of Attack. You won’t find anyone with his experience level and passion to teach. He is not some kid Just trying to build hours.
I choose this flight school because they teach in a simulator and then you perfect it in the plane. It’s the only effective way to learn. The simulator they have is very realistic.

Great people! Always fun to fly with them! I think everyone should at least go have an introductory flight to see what they are missing out on! Monte is a great pilot and instructor! Wish I would have started my training 25-30 years ago instead of waiting till now!

I’m a Army Blackhawk pilot, looking at my civilian options and decided to join the RTP program through Skywest. My flight school in Utah was lagging and kept pushing my multi-engine add on rating back (2 months from original date). I contacted Monte Belgarde through Angle of Attack and within a couple weeks I was in MT flying his Cessna 310. I completed my add on rating first time go, flew the required ATP amount of 25 hours, with an additional 5 hours of sim, all within a 8 day period. His program is structured although he’s a part 61 school, which is conducive for my learning style. Highly recommend.

Monte is awesome. I’m still somewhat shocked with his level of comfort letting me pilot an aircraft. I highly recommend AoAA!

Monte Belgarde is an outstanding flight instructor. Taking flying lessons with him was a great experience because he provided insights drawn from not only his vast knowledge of aviation but also his personal experience from a lifetime of flying. Most importantly, he truly cares about the success of his students and training them to be successful, knowledgeable, and safe pilots.
– Charles Crutchfield, KY
Highly recommend Angle of Attack Aeronautics for all levels of flight training. Monte was able to get me trained up and checked out for my Commercial Multi-Engine checkride in record time. I came to him on extremely short notice and he was kind enough to work me into his schedule and help a fellow pilot. Monte is a class act. Thanks again for everything.
– Stefan Knowles, WA
Monte is a top-notch flight instructor and a blast to be around. I would highly recommend him to anyone interesting in getting started flying or continuing their education in aeronautics. Thanks Monte.
– Chance Sparrow, Helena MT
Coming to Butte is a treat for me since that is when I get an opportunity to go flying with Monte Belgarde. He is a first-rate flight instructor and a really fun person to share a cockpit with. He gave me my first opportunity to fly a twin-engine plane and was that ever FUN!
With loving Blessings,

If you are looking for a fun and positive flight training experience, look no farther than Monte at Angle of Attack AEROnautics. He enjoys teaching and his passion for flying rubs off on those he trains. You have a choice. You can either learn from a young guy who is mainly concerned about building flight time for himself, or you can go with an instructor who loves to fly and truly enjoys teaching the next generation of pilots the skills they need for a long and rewarding career.

This is the place if you want to learn to fly! Monte the instructor is super professional and has the attitude/demeanor to teach people. Even if they know nothing at all about flying like me. With hands on and advanced simulator training he can get you in the air with confidence!
